I am sure there are still some tweaks to be made, but right off the bat I noticed that: - when I open Firefox, it opens immediately, whereas it used to hang and open in the background and eventually open with multiple instances at once - I hadn't really noticed that it wasn't run in a long time, but windows update started the minute the computer restarted: come to think of it, I haven't seen windows update in months. Command Prompt there. I am downloading Avira (free version) as I type this, hopefully this is more reliable than AVG. Thanks for the tip!
